Out-Bound Learning

Never thaught that the programs like Outbound learning program which i just attended could add value to u except for the enjoyment that u get and the bodypain, bruises, cuts that u get after the program, but after attending the program i was having a totally different view about it.

When One of the Other section of our college went and came back many of my friends told me that it is really a nice exercise to know oneself and others, and i was wondering how?, and obviously the answer could be found only by having a practical dexperience of it. The OBL prog was conducted by TSAF( Tata Steel Adventure foundation), Thx to Vignesh, Anant, Partha and Vithhal that made that possible. Our batch was having a total of 35 students.

We left for the steel city of Jamshedpur, as people from TSAF where going to pick us from the jamshedpur station to the TSAF camp at Tumung village, a small and quite village. Before we got down at the statioin, the journey was filled with laughter, emotions and sharing of what we know of each other, especial sharing was done with the help of Most Friendly person (as said by Daya telling about our CR Kuanr). And lots of such things were revealed which some or the other were ignored.

We reached the base camp at 8 in the morning, followed by a breifing about the activities that will follow for the next 3 days, the code of conduct, and many more things regarding (Jagte raho). Our whole batch was divided into 4 groups each consisting of 8-9 people. I was a part of group No. 3 with Swatika as our group leader and Sujit,Parth,Arpit, Antony, Sayak,Litisa and me being the other team member.

It started with creating our own tent, learned for the first time how to tie up the knot for the tent, followed with the breakfast (some of the good food that we have got after getting in XIMB, and we thaught that the mess cook should be send there for making them learn the art of cooking, or take the cook present there with us).

The first exercise was the rock climbing and exploring the caves, the best part was the Chimney climbing, from our group only three people could do that Sujit, Sayak and me. At one particular time a thaught that i am going to fall but somehodw managed to that. One unfortunate incident that followed was when Manisha broke her Knee while climbing. At night there was a documentary showing the expedition of Mount Averest by the Bichendri Pal the first women from india to do so. But every body was so tired that hardly anybody would have seen that completely.

The second started early which sometimes is used to be the sleeping time of many in hostel and started with competion of Obstacle race and our group won that. Which followed with the treasure hunt again our group was at the top, thats because of group work and our commitment.
We also got the chance to meet the Bichendari Pal, the women was full of commitment of whatdever she want in life, getting on the top of Mount Everest was not only her dream but the purpose of life.
In the evening we went ahead to Dimna lake, it was really a damn good place were we have to stay one night and one day on an island, the most tiresome was making the tent and we have to cook our own food, which swasti, litisa, arpit and debanjan took care. we slept that night though our tent was intruded by Javed,Arush,Manas,Gaurav,SD, and Kuanr. we slept to face the most the interesting part of the OBL creating our own raft moving to the other end of the island and come back, again our group was the champ.
Finally, three beautiful days of the life come to an end, with the memoirs to cherish throughout the life.
