Though i have the work experience in the industry..my small stint at Airtel had deepen my thaughts of the redtapism tht exist in the Indian industry..and the proof is tht we are still wating for our feedfack form and the hard earned money our stipend.

Getting back to college after summers was like a deja vu...as the time has once again got us back, to the day when we first joined the college. The term started with the ritual of interacting with the juniors the exited lot with a good mix of ppl of different streams, experience and culture..and offcourse a good ratio of girls to boys.

As the term has ended today with the farewell to the end term exams, I feel this term was much cool as compared to the previous ones. Except for the part tht we enjoyed in the Sales and Distribution Course...I still confused at "So wht is this case all about?"..but the relation with the wonderful Prof will continue in the next term with Product Management course.

At times we were called Dogs, Pigs and Scorpions..beacuse of our loyalty, ability to resist any kind of test and ability to sting the BE course. Among the electives, Marketing Law was the one whose usefulness and applicability in this real world could be comprehended. And I still dont know when I would read all the cases and readings given by the Operation Strategy Professor...who had already tested us twice by giving the cases in the mid term and end term from the lots given 2 months before...and we were helpless on the D-day.

One change tht i have notice in my batchmates is tht they are getting serious about everything..may be because of the pressure of the placement...and tht is good sign as most of the time we have taken the things non seriously when they shouldnt have been.

With the momentum of Placement and Xpression on its way..lets see wht the new term has for all of us in his kitty...................

In the journey of life

"Liberty of thaughts, expression, belief, faith and worship" - these are the words that can be found in the preamble of India, but something unfortunate happen in the past few days where approx. 17 of the sites where blocked by the ISP's like like Spectranet, Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL), Reliance Powersurfer, Airtel Broadband and Sify on getting the direcktives from the government of india. I believe that is the mockery of the preamble tht we have made expressing wht we(Indians) believe, by curbing the "liberty of expression".

In the past few years the blogs has become one of the fastest and effective ways of communication as u get ample space and you are free to express ur views, but i believe tht this liberty should not be misused. Reacting to the situations , several bloggers have organised themselves into a bloggers collective and are planning to file a Right To Information application to obtain the list.

Under the Information Technology Act, 2000, a body called the Computer Emergency Response Team, or CERT - IN, was created along the lines of similar authorities the world over. Although its main task is in the domain of Internet security, it also oversees Internet censorship under a clause that seeks to ensure 'balanced flow of information.' Any government department seeking a block on any web site has to approach CERT-IN, which then instructs the DoT to block the site after confirming the authenticity of the complaint.

In 2003, one of the first things CERT-IN did was to approve the blocking of an obscure mailing list run by a banned militant outfit, the Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC) of the Khasi tribe in Meghalaya. Ironically, the popularity and visibility of the list went up by leaps and bounds, despite it being blocked by all ISPs. Many could still see the list via email or proxy surfing. (source www.Rediff.com)

I still have doubt abt the reason for blocking such sites..does the terrorist really be using such open media..where anybody can have access to there blogs and ask people for Jihad. Still a more detail probe is required before DOT acts in such a way and constraint people from expressing there views.

Ashwamedh 2006

Ashwamedh 2006

Globally, organizations have realized the importance of operations in service industry. With this increasing role of Operations in service sector, organizations are focusing on redesigning and simplifying processes to drive down costs. In this era of knowledge economy, global organizations are increasingly depending on services. India also joining the league with service sector contributing about 50% percent of the GDP. This has lead to many of the big giants focusing more on service sector and thus FDI in India is at its peak.

Service organizations are looking at manufacturing sector for support and are adopting manufacturing techniques to improve their process efficiencies. They are making back offices leaner and meaner by integrating processes and systems to deliver operational efficiencies. Value adding activity is built on this sound base.

Lean, volume proofed business processes are a prerequisite for a competitive expense ratio. Innovations in operating solutions remove the high number of manual interventions in processes and therefore slash costs. Increased globalization is placing greater emphasis on creating visibility within the supply chain by sharing applications and data with business partners via the Internet.

To focus more on this issue and to analyze which sector are contributing more and which sector/ segment India should focus on to bring operational excellence, we bring you the theme of this year’s Ashwamedh 2006 “Operational Excellence in Service sector: Key to sustaining India’s competitive advantage”.

Operation association (XOPS) of XIMB has taken this initiative to bring eminent speakers and business gurus to speak on different topics which will concentrate in field of operations. XIMB is known for its state of the art infrastructure, world class faculty and students who have prior work experience in the service sector and this lead us to keep this theme for Ashwamedh2006.

The theme explores a multitude of current issues that affect business in the Indian Subcontinent like

Process Improvement

Manufacturing techniques in Service Sector

Making Lean Back offices

Innovation in Service Sector Operations

Managing Operational Risks

Designing Optimum Supply Chain Structure

India’s Global Presence

The list of Events

E-discussion – 5th July – 10th Aug. - It is an internet based forum for experts from industries to put their opinions and views on the theme. But one thing i cant understand is that why dont they understand that creating such havoc may be in terms of bomb explosion or riots, they will never succeed in distrupting the working of most populous city of India, these kind of attacks will infact increase the solidarity among the people, this i could say after reading several of the comments that the people of mumbai had written after the attack.

Yet again life in Mumbai has been disrupted. Yet again hundreds die. Yet again the so called concerned authorities come and announce compensation and relief which possibly never sees the day of light. Yet again these VIPs compound people's miseries by cordoning off roads for free movement of their vehicles.

And yet again we hail the Mumbai spirit.

The good thing about mumbai is that the people have a belief that 'bygones are bygones' and they get back to their work as nothing as happened, offcourse except the grieved family members of the departed souls.

All said, I pray for all the souls who left us and those injured and shaken. May god give their near ones the courage and strength to overcome this grief.

Snapshots from Hell - Half Managers

"Half Managers" that is the term that can easily fit to our identity....yesterday we completed our third End term examination....what a relief.........After appearing in myraids of quizzes, presentations, midterms, endterms, projects, assignments....this is not what MBA is all about, the academic regiour is compensated with JLT's, movies,expression...etc..etc.

Last one year would have been really a great experience for each and every individual of our Elite batch (it was nice to know that at last some of our seniors finally agreed to it), yes certain things we would be missing when we would choose our specialization subjects...and the concept to 2 section A and B would vanish and some new integrity would develop.

Working was really fun with people with diverse experience and different specializations...not would work hard to chase there dream..the field in which they want to create a mark. type='text'>IDES OF MARCH

Beware the Ides of March! (source :http://astrology.about.com)

The ominous warning, "Beware the Ides of March," originated with the Roman ruler, Julius Caesar, who was assassinated on the Ides of March - March 15, 44 B.C.E. If you've heard the ominous warning, then it's most likely due to William Shakespeare and his play, Julius Caesar.
The warning itself was made famous in Shakespeare's play on Julius Caesar, when an unidentified soothsayer tells Caesar, who is on his way to the Senate (and his death), "Beware the ides of March." Caesar replies, "He is a dreamer; let us leave him Pass."

The unidentified soothsayer from Shakespeare's play was a Roman astrologer by the name of Spurinna. According to Thompson - and confirmed in Plutarch's account of the story written in 75 A.D. and Suetonius in 110 A.D. - it was sometime prior to the fateful day of March 15 that Spurinna had first given Caesar the famous warning to "beware of the Ides of March."

The astrologer, Spurinna, had previously warned Caesar that on "the Ides of March," he would be in great danger. If, however, Julius Caesar took care on that one day - then all would be well.
According to Plutarch's account, Caesar had previously made the wise decision to stay within the safety of his bedroom chambers on the 15th of March. However, Caesar's "friend" Decimus (Albinus) Brutus (not Marcus Brutus) managed to convince him that the astrologer's warnings were nothing more than superstitious foolishness.

So Julius Caesar decided to attend the Senate on the 15th of March. On his way to the Senate, Caesar "accidentally" met up with the astrologer. Upon seeing Spurinna, Caesar confidently informed the astrologer: "The Ides of March are come." Spurinna replied, "Yes, they are come, but they are not past." Later that day - on March 15, 44 B.C.E - Caesar's enemies assassinated him in the Pompey theater, at the foot of Pompey's statue, where the Roman Senate was meeting that day in the temple of Venus.

What Are the Ides?In the ancient Roman calendar, each of the 12 months of the year had an "ides." In March, May, July and October, the "ides" fell on the 15th day. In every other month, the "ides" fell on the 13th. The word "ides" was derived from the Latin "to divide." The "ides" were originally meant to mark the full moon - but since the solar calendar months and lunar months were of different lengths, the "ides" quickly lost their original intent and purpose.

So an alternative (albeit somewhat dubious) theory, as to why Caesar might have "seemingly" ignored the ominous warning of Spurinna, is that perhaps Julius Caesar got the dates of the warning mixed up. He may have been thinking that the Ides of March fell on the 13th.
Using this theory, forgetful Caesar would have been very careful and stayed home on the 13th of March, but on the 15th of March his guard was down.

End before a beginning

There are some moments in life, which we certainly like to erase like we do with the dirty scriblings on a piece of clean paper. And i am feeling the same at this moments. We often make mistake in knowing people and for me this was the first, when your monument of trust is about to complete u came to know that your whole building is build on the falacy.

I sometimes wonder why people carry the burden of relationship (of any sort) when they actually cant and when they dont want to. I dont know what most of people believe but i think its better to end the relationship that only gives pain to you. Each one of us may have been through the same situation where someone whom we care, consider them as a friend in need, and want to share whatever we could and very next moment backstab you.

There could be two reason for it....First something is wrong with yourself (i feel it is the person itself who should be made responsible first) may be when we expect a lot from other people and assume that they will be there, and as it is said when we assume we are making an ASS of U and ME, so we should expect anything from anybody in return otherwise that will make dependent on others.

second could be may be something is wrong with the person( and that is what we feel most of the time) or may may be the condition would have a forced him to do so. We sometimes becomes so selfish in life in that we often forget others interest and feelings.

I dont know why i am writing this post....but the message is that we should think at least twice when we make decision filled with selfishness and try to be in others shoes and evaluate the implications of each of our moves.

Don't Quit

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low, and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you frown a bit,
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.

Life is strange with its twists and turns,
As everyone of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don't give up though the pace seems slow,
You may succeed with another blow.

Success is failure turned inside out,
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you can never tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far;
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit,
It's when things seem worst that you must not quit.

Snapshot from Hell - part VI

After a long break from updating my blog...its time to get back to business. A lot of things happened in the past 2 months....and also during this time i came to realise that how difficult is keep on updating ur blog...sometime i lack time...sometimes comtents and sometimes both.

One of the major events of MAXIM (Marketing Association of XIM) was to conduct MAXINATION the annual events where all the blocks of the Hostel have a blood bath. The whole events consist of lots of activities like Block intro (which consist of block skid), General and Business quizzes, Crosswords, debates, Block rock and Baap of all Brand wars.

All the blocks where to make an imagnary fruit that can have imaginary features and attributes and we have to do the marketing of that fruit by giving a name, promoting it by company and it should have a Punchline.....and believe the amount of brain storming tht it requires is too much.

Our block finally came up with TAKATAK our star shaped fruit, from the company TASTY and we were having the punchline "Takatak khao, manpasand swad pao" based on the concept that whatever taste u want u can have by consuming Takatak, the grand promotion was at its best with our special brand promoter, we were given shout slots where we can shout abt our product, company and punchline. This all lasted for 3 full days and nights... whole of the college was filled with spate of banners and all other promotional gadgets.

Our block intro was a real master piece ..going with image of C block.. the "Bajrangis".......all too far away from dangerous creature called "Nari".... each of the protaganist has played a role which they are surely going to remember for life.....and that skid has fetched us the first prize in it...

Our block performed average on each events but we finally landed at fourth spot among the six blocks of the hostel......but the amount we enjoyed during these 3 days is unexpressable...though it had cost us the sleep of 3 days, and lots of physical and mental pain.

But with Maxination it had made us learnt not only some Marketing Gyaan and professional ways of doing things but also how to work as a team, how to build consensus when u have a stormy session where each one us trying to put our own ideas, how to do things which u have never thaugt that could do and u would do, How some people behave totally differently when there is pressure of performing well.... I think the MAXINATION has done its justice in teaching us what we should know as a management graduate.

Blogosphere

For nearly updating and posting the blogs, for more than 1.5 year, i am able to celebrate the Silver jubliee of my Blog, as i am writing the 26th post of my blog, the readers(including me) crossed 500+ mark, yet this is just the beginning for the long road ahead. Thanks to all the people who has visited this blog, and posted their comments.

Some more facts and gyaan about blogging: -

The word "BLOG" dates back to 1999 (coined by blogger and entrepreneur Peter Merholz) and the popular site blogger.com was started in the same year (by Pyra labs now owned by Google), but the main reason for blogging getting so much popular was during the entries made by the people during the U.S. president elections in 2004.

Key findings done by Comscore include the following:

50 million U.S. Internet users visited blog sites in the first quarter of 2005. That is roughly 30% of all U.S. Internet users and 1 in 6 of the total U.S. population·

Five hosting services for blogs each had more than 5 million unique visitors in that period, and four individual blogs had more than 1 million visitors each·

Of 400 of the biggest blogs observed, segmented by seven (nonexclusive) categories, political blogs were the most popular, followed by "hipster" lifestyle blogs, tech blogs and blogs authored by women

Compared to the average Internet user, blog readers are significantly more likely to live in wealthier households, be younger and connect to the Web on high-speed connections

Blog readers also visit nearly twice as many web pages as the Internet average, and they are much more likely to shop online.

So the total number of blogs in world is reaching nearly 140 million.

Here is a brief info about the number of blogs according to country and Host

By country:

Australia: approx 450,000 Still not a lot of hard figures here, but based on report in the Australian Newspaper 19 May 05 and allowing for growth since. Like other members of the Anglosphere though its hard to quantify blog numbers due to the dominance of US blogging firms and .com domains

Austria: approx 20,000Ref: Loic Le Meur

Belgium: approx 100,000 skynet: 68,000. There are problems with a definite Belgium count because of the split between French and Dutch speakers. It’s likely that some Belgium bloggers use services in the Netherlands and France, + naturally the Anglosphere offerings.

Bosnia and Herzegovina: less than 3,000 LJ: 1300. Rest unknown

Brunei: less than 3,000 LJ,Blogsphere and others.

Canada: approx 700,000 approximation, difficult to ascertain due to the Anglosphere problem, LJ shows 285,000

China: 6 million and growingref : South China Morning Post.

Croatia: approx 50,000 blog.hr which now has just short of 40,000 blogs + a little more for other sites.

Czech Republic: approx 10,000Ref: Loic

Denmark: approx 15,000Overskrift.dk has nearly 6,000, Smartlog 2,200, Loic has some earlier figures here.

Finland: approx 100,000 Media=blogi Same as last quater, unable to ascertain any new figures.

France: approx 3.5 millionBusinessweek called it 3 million back in July, and yet Skyblog alone now has 3 million. Ublog 65,000, Canalblog 64,200, Loic for other older figures.

Germany: 300,000 Hugo Martin from June + a little growth on this figure. Unlike France which is dominated by Skyblogs, German bloggers appear to be all over the place.

Greece: less than 5,000ref: Loic

India: approx 100,000Financial Express, same figure as last quarter as I couldn’t find anything more up to date but I suspect the number may be a lot more. Certainly India has its own blog awards now as well, and are mentioned in the press.

Iran: 700,000Yes, this is a remarkable number, but I have it on research from Koorsh Eslamzade, but would note like all the figures here these are total blog numbers and not active blog numbers (which are between 40,000 and 110,000).Persian Blog: 520,000 , Blogfa :55,000, Blogsky: 20,000, Mihanblog: 25,000, Parsiblog: 7,000 , Perianlog: 9,500
Ireland: approx 75,000Loic says 9,000, I don’t believe the figure could be low considering the “Irish economic miracle” of the 1990’s and Irelands continued status of growth and IT friendliness, although the population of just over 4 million people is always going to produce a fairly low figure. Problem again that most Irish bloggers would use Anglosphere blogging sites.

Israel: approx 100,000

Italy: approx 250,000Splinder: 144,000, Excite: 17,500, Bloggers.it: 13,500, Timblog: 12,000, ilcannocchiale.it: 12,000, Aruba: 6,000, LJ: 7,500 + others per Loic.

Japan: at least 5.5 millionAsk Jeeves Japan is currently tracking 5.2 million blogs, suspect the number is much higher again.

Malaysia: approx 20,000The Star + LJ. Difficult to ascertain as many would blog on anglosphere services such as Blogger.

The Netherlands: approx 600,000ref: Loic

Philippines: approx 75,000LJ + Pinoy. Could be significantly larger as writers are using Anglosphere services.

Poland: approx 1.5 milliononet.pl 825,000, Tenbit 228,000 , mylog.pl : 134,500, eblog.pl: 90,00, Blog.pl: 70,000, Blogi.pl: 37,500, Blogx.pl: 44,000 and Ownlog.pl: 13,500 = 1,442,500 + minor services= 1.5 million

Russia: approx 400,000LJ: 218,000 users. Loic claims 800,000 but I’m putting the figure at 400,000 without any hard evidence, although likely more

South Korea: approx 20 million.

Spain: approx 1.5 millionTerra.es reports 1 million MSN Spaces + others.

Ukraine: 50,000Loic, not updates from last quarter

United Kingdom: 2.5 million1.5 million UK residents using Spaces as of the end of June (Terra.es ). 227,000+ UK users on Live Journal. Anglosphere problem in estimating figure as many UK bloggers using US services, see notes from July blog count.

United States: approx 30-50 millionImpossible to calculate although there are 4 million on LiveJournal and 3 million on Spaces. Reports that Myspaces hosts 20 million.

By host (over 500,000)Note: these are based on known and rough figures based on media reports and other sources.

Xanga: 40 millionre: WPXI
MySpace: 20-30 millionmost recent number here. Not sure how many are blogging though, have read the figure was 20 million hence 20-30 million, these are also “private blogs” and are not indexed on sites such as Technorat. MSN Spaces: 18 millionTerra.es + growth over the quarter

Blogger: 15 million +

Cyworld: 13 million

SixApart (Live Journal/ TypePad, MT): 11 millionSixApart figure in recent media releases

Planet Weblog Service: 6 millionLeading South Korean blogging provider (same as last qaurter as no new figure available)

Yahoo Blogs Korea: 3 million

Skyblog: 3 million

Bokee: 2 million

Greatest Journal: 1.16 million
Other US Live Journal clones: 1 millionref: Perseus

onet.pl 825,000,

Persian Blog: 520,000

Thwe blogs has now also became a source of revenue for lots of advertiser on the net, and will emerge as one of the great arena for marketing and advertising.

So go on and Happy Blogging...........................

Exuberance - 2006

Exuberance - 2006 that is what we call for our placement process for the batch of 2006, and this day of 7th Jan 2006 all of the batch of PGP-II is placed in one or the other of the top notch company in India and Abroad. Whole of the PGP-II was seen on the roads when they heard the news that there Batch is finally and fully placed. The amount of happiness and laughter on there face is unmeasurable.

We have companies coming for laterals and freshers and most of them for both. Day 1 Placements for XIMB started today (7th January 2006) for the batch of 2004-2006. The important fact to notice is that these figures do not include the number of Pre-Placement Offers / Interviews (PPOs and PPIs) which amount to 20. The highest international salary package was provided by OLAM International.

The work done by the previous and the existing Placement committee is highly commendable. they had really worked really hard day and night to place the batch with a good number of offers and choosing the company of their choice. Three cheers to them.

PGP-I to has played a important role as a facilitator to the various companies. The whole batch eas divided into committies such as Control desk - taking care of all the nitty-gritties from keeping the track of the companies coming to the campus, the place where the process is to be scheduled, Venue committe responsible for the venue where the PPT talks and interview process was schduled.

Students committee taking care of the applicants of each company and making them available at the right time at the right place, PPT committee - responsible to see the PPT presentations are going smoothly, Food committee - responsible for providing food, snacks for the Interviewrs, Company coordinators- they the person who has to stick to the officials of the company providing everything possible to them, Transport committee - responsible for all the transportation activity and logistic.

At the end what matters is that everyone was happy and most ofthem has got the company of their choice.

Misnomers........Nicknames...........Petnames

Some People are lucky enough so that they have only one name this superset of name contains only its single name as a subset, but mine like some others would be having a lots of name given by their parents, cousin, friends and colleagues. And so, this post is dedicated to all such names that i have got during my short life of 24 years.

People start identifying me by the first name given my mom and dad and that was 'Nicky' and i know they will always call me by that name, and entire maternal and paternal family knows me by that name. Then the dilemma of having an another name as an official one for registration in school lead them christen me with 'Nitin Raj Jain'. Never asked my father why he wants my middle name to be 'Raj' nobody in my family has that, felt happy when SRK was having that in most of his movies.

In school people call me with 'Nitin' but some started calling me with me 'Raj' and wants me drop my name 'Nitin' offcourse i had rejected such useless advice. I often used to visit my grandparents village during my summer vacation, so there were lots od cousin of my age, but unfortunately that bloody 'Suniel Shetty' joined the movies, and donno how, my cousin sis give me an another useless name. One of my friend Anurag told me that some one used to call me 'Scooty', and the name of thar person is still unknown to me.

Then my engineering college where people always made good efforts not to call me by my real name, and they started calling me 'Raj Jain', some of by friends also started calling me 'B. Nitin' (I couldnt tell the reason why?) and i again a misnomer when one of my friend Cyrus started calling me 'Shumi' according to him I was looking like 'Michael Schumarker' that confirms me that people look others by the way they want to see me. Yaa one of the most interesting name tht i got was 'AZGAR' by my x-room partner Vikas, he thinks me as an indolent guy doing studies thts all again donno why he thinks so.

Then came XIM and the name 'John', for which Nity is the culprit, he tried to match the photographs of John Abraham and mine which were definitely unmatchable, but all C-botters and many others started calling me by that name.

still dont know how many such more names would be given to me...the most unfortunate part of all this people may forget my real name.....but at last it is nothing in the name....all that counts is people love and admiration.

Personal Branding

Personal Branding

Ever thought of creating yourself as a brand? Yes and why not, as that proves your unique identity in this world of commodities. Past and present has exemplified you enough for the ever lasting personal brands that has been created or they had create themself as one like from Hitler, Mahatma Gandhi to Jack Welch, Bill Gates, Maria Jones to brand Tendulkar and the list can goes on, each making himself distinct, and proving their Unique selling proposition.

If products like Coco-cola, Pepsi, Surf, Lux, and Harley Davidson can turn out be unforgettable and strong brands, why can’t we, who have created them. We are no different from "Products" in a sense. We too sell, persuade, pitch and we advocate for stuff that is a part of selling and creating a life time relationship, which will, we hope, fulfill our dream or take us to a pinnacle in life.

When we look yourself among our friends, colleagues, competitors and family each one is remembered as a distinct personality for example the most talkative, brave, intelligent, Kind person i.e. all are branded. We know who they were and exactly what they were about. Personal Brand is a mark that that symbolizes who you are and what you stand for, and defines your contribution to the world. And your contribution is independent of your age, gender and your profession.

Why to be branded?

Creating yourself as a brand makes one special, memorable, desirable, and an invaluable asset. The power of branding creates a perception of leadership and competency. Personal brands start with the core of one existence and that is spread and distributed throughout every point, and who so ever comes in contact with you. It is a smart, powerful tool. It is being more of who you really are. It’s defining and communicating your purpose, personality, and passions.

People, just like commercial products, have a natural brand - the one which we are born with, and the other we acquire over time and experience. It’s the sum of all the factors like how the market or others perceive us, our actions, our behavior and our level of integrity. Creating yourself as a brand requires energy, resources, commitment and effort to sustain in this highly competitive world. Making your choice to work and live your brand will open doors to more opportunities, freedom, and accomplishment.

In addition, branded people tend to receive stronger support from peers, business associates, competitors, which allows them to accomplish more things, conjure more authority, and increase credence for their decision so they enjoy "TOP MIND" visibility and status. It’s all about either going with the flow or creating your self, identical, personal brand.

Snapshot from Hell - Part IV

Finally, the second semester has partially ended as one end term of Financial Management is still left, means the trauma of exam has not ended. It is said as marketing is about 4 P's so is the MBA Presentation, Placement, Projets and Party. So was the case with last 2 weeks with lots of presentation and Project to submit and as always, all was done in the eleventh hour.

For the time while scubmitting our project and presentation almost swhole of our batch was charged for Plagiarism, for coping most of the contents of our research for Social Research Methodology project, nobody from the teachers side or from the seniors has told about this thing, that what we actually do in our project is mere plagiarism.

Most of the presentation are just like formality, as donno how much we really learn from deach of such presentation as most of us often are busy doing our personal work. Most of the classes in second term were like doing self study in class while the teacher was busy giving the lecture cant forget we have done in SRM, MIS and EA.

Second term could have not been completed unless there were lot of proxies, were some attending only 4-5 lectures out of 20 and offically present in all of them, and could be forget the postponing of the classes, Quizzes, Project submission, presentation and i know if Kuanr would have tried he would have been instrumental even in postponing the End Term, no doubt he is one of the Best CR's we have got.

And can we forget I. Shridhar? No way at least Naman, Javed, Arush and Samir. And it is upto Naman whether to take the personal consultancy from him. Manas one of the favorite of him, would have really enjoyed his company while having tea breaks and offcourse the badminton match. Though our section was infamous, at least one teacher was able to commed us on the type of presentation, thx Prof. Bal.

Our each exam( exception are always there) was having an omnipresent component of Cheating

trying to get the positive synergy and increasing the output of the groups. Some unfortunate events where the consicuous of the careless act when some of our batchmates where caught in the OB End term exam, but efforts were made to save them. But this did not stop us from our habits, as said history repeat itself and once again one of our friend fall in the trap of Lingraj ( i know how much we all like him as me kept strolling in the examination hall).

Time is really fleeting like anything and second sem has come an end as if it has began a few days ago from now. It all started with Expression, Puja vacation, midterm, quizzes, project & presentation and a wonderful last lecture by our SOB (Sweet Old Bani). Hope so we would be able to implement something, what Banikant Mishra has taught and also Prof. Banikant Mishra.

The Burning Land

In the Burning Land of Heaven and Hell,
we dig our grave, and leave the shell
which i just attended could add value to u except for the enjoyment that u get and the bodypain, bruises, cuts that u get after the program, but after attending the program i was having a totally different view about it.

When One of the Other section of our college went and came back many of my friends told me that it is really a nice exercise to know oneself and others, and i was wondering how?, and obviously the answer could be found only by having a practical dexperience of it. The OBL prog was conducted by TSAF( Tata Steel Adventure foundation), Thx to Vignesh, Anant, Partha and Vithhal that made that possible. Our batch was having a total of 35 students.

We left for the steel city of Jamshedpur, as people from TSAF where going to pick us from the jamshedpur station to the TSAF camp at Tumung village, a small and quite village. Before we got down at the statioin, the journey was filled with laughter, emotions and sharing of what we know of each other, especial sharing was done with the help of Most Friendly person (as said by Daya telling about our CR Kuanr). And lots of such things were revealed which some or the other were ignored.

We reached the base camp at 8 in the morning, followed by a breifing about the activities that will follow for the next 3 days, the code of conduct, and many more things regarding (Jagte raho). Our whole batch was divided into 4 groups each consisting of 8-9 people. I was a part of group No. 3 with Swatika as our group leader and Sujit,Parth,Arpit, Antony, Sayak,Litisa and me being the other team member.

It started with creating our own tent, learned for the first time how to tie up the knot for the tent, followed with the breakfast (some of the good food that we have got after getting in XIMB, and we thaught that the mess cook should be send there for making them learn the art of cooking, or take the cook present there with us).

The first exercise was the rock climbing and exploring the caves, the best part was the Chimney climbing, from our group only three people could do that Sujit, Sayak and me. At one particular time a thaught that i am going to fall but somehodw managed to that. One unfortunate incident that followed was when Manisha broke her Knee while climbing. At night there was a documentary showing the expedition of Mount Averest by the Bichendri Pal the first women from india to do so. But every body was so tired that hardly anybody would have seen that completely.

The second started early which sometimes is used to be the sleeping time of many in hostel and started with competion of Obstacle race and our group won that. Which followed with the treasure hunt again our group was at the top, thats because of group work and our commitment.

We also got the chance to meet the Bichendari Pal, the women was full of commitment of whatdever she want in life, getting on the top of Mount Everest was not only her dream but the purpose of life.

In the evening we went ahead to Dimna lake, it was really a damn good place were we have to stay one night and one day on an island, the most tiresome was making the tent and we have to cook our own food, which swasti, litisa, arpit and debanjan took care. we slept that night though our tent was intruded by Javed,Arush,Manas,Gaurav,SD, and Kuanr. we slept to face the most the interesting part of the OBL creating our own raft moving to the other end of the island and come back, again our group was the champ.

Finally, three beautiful days of the life come to an end, with the memoirs to cherish throughout the life.

Smart Messaging Service

A Decade before nobody would have thaught of sending the text through mobiles. I never thaught that I would be writing some thing about the teachers here at XIM, But they got the place not because of, they have a huge impact on me or any such attachment to there teaching's but beacuse some of them have their own unique way of teaching, Some were inductive enough to make us sleep and some make us shivering untill their lecture was over. Though we are in second semester and there are very few such unforgetable experience, let's see what more has still to come.

It was our first semester and we have just accostomed to the new ambience of MBA, Bhubneswar, sleepless nights etc....etc... . Then began our Micro Economics Classes and Mrs. Lata Ravindran as our professor, no doubt she is one of the best faculty of Eco in India, but the way she teaches has made nearly half of the student sleeping no matter where they sit, either on the first bench of the class or at the last. The monotonous way in which she taught us was making each of us more soporific, May be as she was having the first class of the day most of the time was the reason, and we used to repent the act while giving the exams, when the concept of Eco. looked like a distant dreams hard to achieve. But still she was one of the best faculty in terms of Knowledge.

Our Interaction with our first Visting faculty is also unforgetable, Mr. Tapan Panda Prof. Marketing. What amuses me was the way he used to start the lecture, you never know from the talks of his when he will enter the periphery of Marketing, One thing that was never missing from his lectures were the Special Examples he used to give in class, and offcourse for "WHY BAJAJ PULSER IS DEFINATELY MALE ?". How can be forget the special treatment he used to give to Girls of our batch. I think he has some special regards for them.

Our another visiting faculty Mr. R.K. Bal prof for Cost and Account Management. Special punchlines of him : "Silennnnnnncccceee" , "Now I will give a Question, Identify the person ",

"Our Chartered Accountant Friends will Help us", and the most important of our presentation is "DELIGHT YOUR CUSTOMER's".

Now the most talked about man on the campus, whose warning was constantly given to us by our seniors(I find them more terrified by him then our ELITE batch), Mr. Banikant Mishra Prof. for Financial Management. Sincerity is the least that is expected from us. The rules and regulation were to be followed at any cost, which typically reminds me of "Amitabh Bachan's role of an Adminstrator of a college in the movie Mohabbatein". The only reason for not being present in the class should be the death of somebody in the house or you are severely ill. He has his own way of Grading and checking of the term papers and cheating in the exam would definately would lead to a 'F' in the final grades.

Most of the answer given to him were wrong as we are unable to "COME DOWN TO THE LEVEL OF THE COMMON MAN" and the language we used was having a very degree of Complexity and he expected the opposite "CANT YOU SAY THAT IN SIMPLE ENGLISH".

I think every body used to make himself present in the class, failing of which could be treated as high degree of indicipline and Insincere act, and would cost a 0.2 deduction in the grades. The Financial classes was also an oppurtunity for most of us to learn proper english that we have missed out since ages like knowing the difference between the "STATEMENT and CONJECTURE". And sometime Most of the sentence were found to be Missing the elements like verbs and nouns.

Still this is just the trailor of an interesting story lets see what the whole movie brings out............

Life is Beautiful

So, I feel that the books people write about themselves or about there experiences that they had in their life, or it could be an unsual incidence that they would like to share. These could give a glimpse of such things that we may not be able to touch its periphery, but by reading about them, makes you as a part of the ongoing phenomenon. This is a short summary of life of Michael Dell basically taken from his book "Direct from Dell". Also a set of brief learnings during his tenure at Dell. So, this is Mr. Dell..............

At 13, Michael Dell was the young man with a knack for taking apart his Apple computer and an ambitioin to run an business. Today, after becoming the youngest CEO in History to head a Fortune 500 company, he leads one ofthe most profitable and innovative organsation of he world.

Michael Dell releates the remarable story of Dell Computers rise to suceess. Beginning in his college dorn with $1000, he set out to beat IBM at their own games, created the direct sales model(a Dell halmark) and pioneered the customer support, combining it with the unravelled speed to market andd a fierce commitment to product quality and performance. But the story of Dell Computer is no fairy tale - along the way Dell made mistakes and learned some hard lessons, emerging stronger as a result.

Lessons Learned :-

If you've got a idea, it pays to do something about it.

Sometimes it's better not to ask or to listen when people tell yoy something cant be done.

With every new growth oppurtunitycame a commensurate level of risk.

No matter what your industry, try to identify potential problems early- and fix them fast.

Involve your customers early in the development process.

Establish a fludity and consistency of Communications.

The right people in the right job are instrumental to a company sucess.

you need to engendera sense of personal investment in all the your employees- which comes of three things: resposibilty, accountibility and shared sucess.

you need to embrace an experimental attitude in making deccision.

Make failure acceptable as long as it creates learning opputunites.

Delight your customers.

Dont be satisfied in learning your industry. learn as much as you can about your customers previos experience, not only with your competitors, but with other companies as well.

Go beyond selling your product or services, and make yourself valuable to your customers as an advisior.

Speed for market is important for two reason. One is that it creates competitive value that can be shared between buyer and supplier. The other is that when it comes to delivering the latest product - no matter what it is - you're either quick or you're dead.

Dont underestimate the value of information.

Flip the equation: Dont settle for the standard supply/ demand relationship. Work towards Demand/supply.

Differentiate for the competitive edge.

Learning to thrive on constant change is the next frontier.

Reorient your priorities : Price is not the prevailing factor in the connected ecconomy; as the internet levels the competitive playing field, competitive value is more apt to be found in execution. Stress personalization, convinience, ease of interaction for your customers.

My first Diwali Outside Home

The day a joined the engineering college, i know i would be missing all the enjoyment of festivities, but fortunately in the four years of my engineering that never happened. Only one incident by which i would have really missed it was when i had for a 15 days training for Network and ERP at Ramco systems Kolkatta, as our training was just completed on a day before Diwali as they(Bengalies) dont celebrate it with much vigour and enjoyment.

The other friends of mine who where with me made an equal effort for me in finding a suitable train that could help me in getting to my home town at least in the late evening, when whole of the sagar is illumnated with crackers, candles and Diya's, and puja begins.

As there was no direct train for it, i had to break the journey and get down at Katni(a junction in MP), fortunately the Mumbai mail droped me at the Katni station station at the right time when another train is available for sagar. while i was in the train i was constantly thinking of whether i would be able to reach there or not, fortunately i did.

The second is incident is this Diwali, where i had missed it. As we dont have a long holidays for diwali at XIMB, the people whose home are far away had to celeberate here and our localites friends were also with us during the celebration. But the day started as if like there is some mourning in the hostel. everything was quite and still, though we had made the preparation for celebrating diwali, the intial phase was equally boroing compared to the amount of work that we have to do in home and where there always an spate of guest and relatives.

I tried to reduce the boredom by trying to sleep for the whole day, but that always plays a hide and seek game with me, when i required it the most. In the evening we made some movement and went to the RAM temple here that has really given me some satisfaction and feel that today is diwali, then we went to the ISKON temple and finally back to the hostel to find that the puja in the hostel has already began, then came the blasting part ofthe day, lots of crackers with all the hostellites taking an active part in it, never celeberated the diwali in such a way with so many people, especially as a restrained myself from burning the crackers for the last 12 years.

Still i'll never forget this diwali, enjoyed the way it is celebrated, and helps in keping the sprits of the hostelites.

Contraries of Life

The Distance is long, the aim is high,
To get ahead always, without a sigh

There is a spate of people, but draught of Humans
do good at your best, that is for which each of us fight

Education is around, but knowledge hard to find,
We speak at every count and say a lot without a sound

Politician's rule the roost, but leaders are very few
charity is enormous, but lacks the Kindness hue.

Snapshots from hell - Part III

"Study Hard and Party Hard" is what i have learned in this 5 months of stint at XIMB. After getting bogged down by regular classes, assignment, and projects what is the alternative other than to party hard and the most adorables JLT's. Our seniors says that our batch is more enthusiastic then their's and i am proud to say that it is, which can be exemplified by a any of activities that involves PGP-1 be it participation of games, quizzes our any such events or conducting them. This is one of the reason why we are 'Elite'. In oder to recover from the traumas of the 'Khajur' and 'Mishra' it is really a necesities, and a blessing in desguise.

The recent most event that we are a part of it was 'AD- MAD' conducted by the MAXIM the Marketing Association of XIM, and i'll say it was a combo of learning and a lots of fun. It started with a preliminiary rounds with question more from the Advertisement world. Though we were apprehensive at the first that whether we will qualify for the next round or not but seeing the other team in the same situation we were a bit sure that we will make it, not b'coz the teams are poor but due the touchness level of the quizzes.

The second round was of making an AD where team were given a abstract product and we have make an AD in 3 minutes and perform that in another 2 minutes, it had really drive us crazy with the creativity and wit that the ad's that the teams had made. The third round was of making a jingle for an AD again for an abtract product with time reduced for making the AD to 2 minutes and i wonder that such things brings out the ideas hidden out some deep down in our head. The third round was of making an AD while using the various props that where kept there. It was really amazing to see people in that roles. Even though the participation doesnt led us to any of the prizes but being a part of such activities was enough for the motivation and satiaty.

Another major event of XIM that i dont think i will ever forget in my life time was the Block fest, where each block drinks and dance the whole night. At XIM we have 6 Blocks. Block A,B,C and D for Gents PGP hostel, RMH for Ladies hostel and one block for RM( Rural Management). Its is treated as like the wars bettween the Giants, with none of the block wants to cut an sorry figure in front of the other, and each of junior and seniors where there on the terace of each block with loud speakers and lights. Each one trying to prove there persistency. It is one of such event that has strenthen the camaraderie between the seniors and juniors and among our batch also.

Be being the part of this crazy event, partying hard and putting water on people of another block if they enter ours and vice versa. At last we 5 (Manoj, Nitie,Rohit, Shri and me) were left as the representatives of our block continued the dance and were the last to leave the war field. But intial booing of different blocks finally ended up with each block cheering and praising the other, really a great event to cherish for the rest of the life. With Maxination (Another Block war ) still to come we our tightning our seat belts for give a tough competition to our other block competetors.

G-4 (Home,StudyRoom,Recreation Centre and Dharamshala for many)

Sitting in this lonely room of mine at XIM, my mind often flew back to the remniciences of my stay at G-4, this was our flat number while staying there in Bhilai completing my engineering. The place often haunt me whenever i miss my room-mates Nitesh, Manish and Vikas now the former two are out of india and the later is also ready to leave, Never thaught that one day we would be seperated by such a distance, but happy for their achievements that had led them there.

Nitesh being my childhood friend (langotia yaar) i was knowing them before i joined BIT, and came to know more about Manish and Vikas only after my first semester though our rooms were only few yards from each other. These two guys were really great in making there network be it with senior or our batchmates, they are really friend in true sense. I still remember the amount of effort that we have put in to get that flat, as it was one of the nearest to the college, on the first floor, in a posh locality having a badmintion court, and lots of girls as there was a girls college nearby but unfortunately in our three year stay in that flat we could hardly found a girl that we could admire, with Bhadoria (vikas) keep on shouting to the girls who used to sit in the in garden near our flat.

Something about our landlords Mr. and Mrs. Daripa with later one of the most horiffying looks and her shrill shout really makes us scared and we used to look for any possible way so that we would not have to conatact that lady, on the otherhand his husband was true gentleman thin and lean contrary to his wife in physique and character also. "Hum tumko bola tha na" and "Manish- Manish " was the chants we had to hear from her.

Our flat was really like the true home in the sense it has all the facilities that are required, and we used to have a cook for our meals, the true legacy we enjoyed thought not for a long time. Some skirmish that we often had on clearing up the monthly accounts and having a party of cold-drinks and icecream of the money that is left from the account. We also maintain a Hero-Puch that chacha(Manish) braught from one of the senior, that was real luxury be it going to the party or going for classes at SSI (nitesh will defenately remember that).

During our tenure of three years our flat was cleaned and maintained by many of the person with whom we have developed really good releation. the first was Rupa the maid we first employeed to clean our house, her name was totally a misnomer. then came our 'Jindagi' wale bhaiya, the person we discovered who had left his home in search of work, and he used to live with us until once he left for holidays to his village and never came back, and we found out that Rs 700 hundred were missing from home, then followed 'Bui' and 'Radhika' with Radhika serving for the longest time as she used to treat our house like hers, her favorite was Chacha and his brother vikas.

Though we four were living in that flat, but hardly we could find less than 5-6 people in it. Our constant visitor were our another three close friends of us, who have taken our flat as there own for granted and we havent have any problem with that. Our three Guest cum room partner are Paras Jain, Amit pandey and Manish Chaudhary. With pandey ji living most of the time in our flat toilet. Our flat was also a sort of place were people often come to get entertain, or entertain us, with their problems thinking that we have the solutions for each.

There is much more to write about the activities that we have done there that this space of my blog will prove to be scarce, still i would be writing about those later about my room-mates, friends of BIT, about bhilai and our college whenever i would get the momento for doing that.

Snapshots from Hell - Part II

After my 4 months and 13 days at XIM, one thing i was pretty much sure that i good business school will try to teach in 2 years what an engineering college would have taken 5 years to taught. I thaught that i would be able to share each and every moment of here but the rigour and the paucity of time has always hold me back.

One day when i woke up after the MID-TERM someone reminded me of the approaching Final Term, though my perfomance was below average (this is what the result of Ist Term in future is going to verify), I was really try hard to advance to higher class of the Averages. I also got my lowest marks in my life in any subject in school and engineering but economics spaded my belief of having sound knowledge of Eco.

One thing that the continuous process of examination has given a confidance and the skill to perform good enough even you are not prepared for that, I'll not state the reasons for not preparing, and i utilize these learning to the fullest in my Final Term. And you'll never know when I had entered the Second term.

At each and every moment the people here has always inspired me to learn and improve myself in any field i want to go. The most important learning is to be a Perfectionist i.e. to achieve the perfection in at least one of the field u pursue instead of just being a jack of all trade and master of none. To be competitent you ought be a master in something, otherwise the sheer competition will always throw you out just like ocean which throws out the waste to the beaches or its edges. Before joining here the image that i was having about a good business school is full with other co-curricular activities in addtion to rigrous studies, and XIMB has made that image in to a reality.

'Expression' - Our Annual Business school Festival is one of the mega events of which i will be a part in organising it. I being a Part of 'Krukshetra' team ( an simulation game that replicates the business decision that a manager has to take in real life) has to develop the code for Marketing Domain of the game, it was real fun which has taken my 3-4 days of my sleep, thanks to Sanat and Jaya for the cooperation in developinga sucessful module of it. It was also a sense a achivement in organising a Pre- Expression event known as 'Zeus & Venus' which was an effort to Find out the Personality of the person and asking the judges to determine the best among them( this one is most difficult part as i peronally feel that each one is unique in itself, each one has certain level of acumen, knowledge, talent and lot of other things which we cant match with others). The event was a real insight for me to know a lot about the people with whom i was staying since i joined XIM, that event has really carved out the talent the person where having out in public, really felt stranged about the enormous talent that is kept hidden untill such a platform is provided to them.

Considering our part of prepartion for the game, i'll was not sure that we will be able to perform and that the event would turn out to be one of the good events of the college. The team had really perform well, each one contributing with its own part, Partha with its Compering and Creativity in the game, Niks for the poster and question brainstorming, Abhishek and Daya for the there PR Skills and Abhishek also helping in logistic part, Sanjana and Mridul for coordinating and making questions for the various round.

I Hope so that such process of continuous learning and Improving myself day by day will be there like a vicious circle............to follow what Anthony Robbins has said CANI (Constant and Never Ending Improvement).

Meri Janambhoomi - Sagar (Saugor)

For most of the place when we gave a name to it, then there is some history attached to that particular place, same goes with my birthplace - 'Saugor'. The name is amalgation of two words namely 'SAU' meaning 100 and 'GARH' meaning division, as it was once the headquaters of the Britshers while they where ruling India. One thing that never change 'Change' has changed the name of 'Saugor' to 'Sagar' which means an 'Sea' ( a sea of what???? that i would be describing it later). And if the name 'Sagar' would have given you the impression that the area is having an abundant amount of water resource the name givden to the place 'Sagar' is totally a misnomer, as it is a totally a water scarce area.

I am writing this blog as one my friend Anurag also from requested me for doing so, I dont know the reason for it, still the thaught of writing something about my birthplace has given me a nostalgic feeling of my childhood, my school, the small cursive streets, the big holes in the roads ( I really wonder whether they really exist there), a recognition that i belong to a city that is having one of the oldest Universities of India(Dr. Harisingh Gaur Universities), temples a visited, and offcourse my friends.

Sagar situated in the northen-central part of india, 180 kms from the state capital Bhopal. And easily connected to other cities of MP and also to the other states through national hoghway 26. The city is build over the five small pleateaus, that makes roads of sagar like the humps of of the camel. Being very near to Jhasi and Lalitpur the main components of BUNDELKHAND it has become a prime location for bundelkhandi culture. The language used is Hindi but only if he dont know Bundelkhandi the local dialect ( i really miss that) though the language may hurts the people who are not used to it as one may feel that the words are really sharp and missing the important ingredients of respect, but every language and dialect goes in its own way so is bundelkhandi. Major religions are Jainism, Hinduism, Islam and Sikhism, with other religions existing in harmony with others.

As far as education is concerned the city boast of two courses in university that are of world class reputation i.e. Pharmacy and Criminology( this subject is thaught in only two university in India). 6-7 good schools like Convent, Army,Central etc and a largde number of local schools, there are hardly any big industries there, and unemployment is very high, which exhort the youth to indulge in various illlegal activities, and the sagarities are known for there rude and always ready to fight behavior, this is mostly the case when something wrong is happening to them. Due to lack of propder guidance, money and a sense of responsibilty many talent just goes wasted. Beedi making is the main occupation and the cartel of these big manufacturer had always hindered in the development of other industries due to there self motive. But the beedi's of sagar are also famous among the smokers of India, and is also for which sagar is known.

The main reason what I feel regarding the current battered situation of sagar is due to the migration of people from nearby villages to city heartland, and the educated people of sagar moving out of sagar and even the state for better oppurtunities. This situation is quite alarming as it will make city sagar to a village when a town is getting converted to an metro in the rest of the developing state, what really amazed mde was the statitics from my own batch of school of 180 people, of whom nearly 50% has left the city either for higher studies or for job.

What i really feel that instead of running from the situation we should fight the situation, do something that would enrich my Janambhoomi, and how that has to be seriously thaught over.
Does the people who has left sagar will return back to there birhtplace, and help him to recuperate or make him die in pain.

DEATH - What if I die Tomorrow

Can anyone define Death? or can tell what is going to happen to him/her after death or when a person is going to die????????... I think these kind of question must have strike to each one of us and we fathom hard to find out there answer but whatever we could find about them we remain unsatiated by the complexity, logic and mystery of the frightning word 'Death'.

What compelled me to write on death was an unusal assignment of Organisational Behavior course where we have write our own obituary. I was Thinking hard how would my death would really matter to people living near me, physically as well as sensually. After my first relations and few friends i couldnt find anybody affected by it.

Another myth surrounding death is the life after death. According to Hindu mythology people in this world take nearly 84,00,000 lakh rebirths after death and his next life form depends upon the way he has behaved in this life. Others believe that life is only for once, and too agree with them. That reminds me of

"The body has gone, the soul is there

Live life to the fullest, as if there is nothing to fear"

While there was a lot of repercussion going in my mind regarding death, i was wandering what would happen if i would die tomorrow, and here is what i could get :-

When tomorrow starts without me, and I'm not there to see

If the sun should rise and find your eyes all filled with tears for me

I wish so much you wouldn't cry the way you did today

While thinking of the many things we didn't get to say

I know how much you loved me--as much as I love you

And each time that you think of me I know you'll miss me too

But when tomorrow starts without me please try to understand

That an angel came and called my name and took me by the hand

And said my place was ready in Heaven far above

And that I'd have to leave behind all those I dearly love

But as I turned to walk away a tear fell from my eye

For all my life I'd always thought I didn't want to die

I had so much to live for, so much yet to do

It seemed almost impossible that I was leaving you

I thought of all the yesterdays, the good ones and the bad

I thought of all the love we shared and all the fun we had
If I could relive yesterday just even for a while

I'd say goodbye and kiss you and maybe see you smile

But then I fully realized that this could never be

For emptiness and memories would take the place of me

And when I thought of worldly things I might miss come tomorrow

I thought of you and when I did my heart was filled with sorrow

But when I walked through Heaven's gates I felt so much at home

When God looked down and smiled at me from His great golden throne

So when tomorrow starts without me, don't think we're far apart

For every time you think of me I'm right here in your heart.

And i thaught this would suffice what i had to say................

"Life is not measured by the breaths we take...

SnapShots from Hell - Part I

Getting an oportunities to update the blog is what i really enjoyed especially after coming to the hell called as XIMB. And most of you(ppl from ximb) would agree with me, as u know why. After the soporific classes and equally boring and exasperating quizzes, we got the solace in form of 3 days hoilday which turn out be one of the momentous part of my life.

With an Impromptu decision for a trip to Konark and Puri, we (21 of us) were set to stormthe beaches and it really happen as wht we have donde there. Our journey started at 3:00 am in the morning, and headed towards Konark to have a glimpse of the God of light 'SUN' in its early avtaar, But he want us to come back again and he never turned up that day.

There are always some black sheeps in the group, and we too have some, and forcefully making people to have the taste of sea water by throwing them in water, and nobody was spared (exception are always there). This act of us helped to enjoy the liberty of having the rule over the whole beach as ppl started to leave as they do not want to be prey for us, though there were very less people. This beach is called as the 'Chandrabhaga' beach named after the river Chandra bhaga whick looks like a cresent and so its name. The river submerged itself to the Bay of Bengal here. The monstrous Sea was its best with climate playing its part to make it more beautiful. The beach was really steep and we were already given the warning of not to go deep.

Our next destination was the Konark 'SUN Temple' which was build somewhere around 1250 B.C., a true glimpse the engineering masterpiece of india, the temple was made without any cement like substance just stones after stones, more came to know about the temple through the guide which told us about some of the important points of the temple, its history, relevance, the one of the unique sun clock which can measure time according the place where shadow falls on a wheel (there are 24 wheels and whole of the temple is made in the form of the Chariot. Each wheel depicts the life and they people live and act at that time. It's really sad that the temple looks to be in a white dwarf stage, with govt. trying to resurrect it.

Our final destination was at 'PURI - The city of lord Jagannath'. Our breif stay at XIMB Guest house was like a luxuary, never thaught that the service was excellent and made our journey really comfortable. Then we headed towards the temple of the lord, but really felt uneasy to see the situation there, with the Pandas ruling the roost by there monarchy over the god and their greed for money made me in a pensive mood to cogitate over 'how a person who lives in a temple almost for 24 hrs can ne surrounded with such lust?'
I was fortunate enough to atleast have a glance over the god idols(sometimes i think it what they really are?.). The beach at puri was good and lot of space for us to play the volleyball there.

Finally every good things come to end.........we started again to return to the hell as the birds to their nest.

GET - SET - GO

The acadmic session at XIMB began with a registration process, submitting our original documents, where original has different meaning for different documents, followed by the photo session and when i saw my photograph, I asked a question to myself "how could they this to me?" - may be thats the way i am (perception).

The following two days where at the xim were really a moral booster with all the concepts of leadership, team building, patience, excitement and lot more, i really thaught this would continue for the rest of the two years. I had never learned the names of so many person in such a short interval of time.

Some of the games that i really liked where Treasure Hunt, making an elephant and skid that wehave prepaered for our presentation for Dadra and Nagar Haveli, and our effort paid us as we have won for 'JUMBO' our elephant whose parts were drawn by our different team members and third prize for the skit.

Then came the long interactive sessions with our seniors, i think they will also agree about the 'elite' nature of batch. They are freaky about cleaniness and make every effort that we have had our bath. Still enjoyed that in the soaring temperature. In these sessions we came knowsome of the various 'Paramparas' of ximb, like the way we celebrate the b'day,'Sambandh','Parichay',the typical ximb dance - a lovely one and the unending JLT's.

Then came the nightmares long theory sessions that ultimately sleep with profs seems singing the 'loree'. The deadlines of completing the assignment though we have less of them as compared withthe seniors, group task, projects the list seems endless. But this is just the begining, only a tip of the iceberg.

A New Journey towards life - XIMB

Life is like a river that does take some sudden swift and turn, both knows how to move ahead overcoming the obstacles, and both knows how to make there way. After my Momentous moments at Reliance Infocomm, i too went a U turn, getting back to school after the job, it was a difficult task but that i had always aspired for.

My journey for XIMB started at 13-06-2005 through Hirakund express, this time i was fortunate enough to get a direct train from my home town as there is scarcity of trains from the region i belong Bundelkhand. This journey of mine was a different one as compared to when i was going to join my Engineering college in Bhilai, that time it was fear, apprehension, sadness of leaving the home, and excitement but this time i was purely ecasticity.

Fourtunately enough to find one more Ximbian on that train Gaurav Khandelwal, a fitness expert that we all used to call him. later i came to found out that there was one more Vinay Nayak in the train heading for the same destination XIMB. That was begining of the new friendship as the 24 hrs journey was enough to know some bits and pieces of each other.

You can easily found out when u are going to enter in orrisa, the soaring mercury will really make u cry, you'll hardly find any good stations in between untill u reach BBSR( BBSR station is good comparatively to other stations in orrisa and relatively OK on comparision with other capital city) - no offense to the orriya people. The jouney also become too tiresome if u hardly find a pretty face in such a long journey, hope so many of us would agrry with me.

After getting down at BBSR, my target was find out someone who can guide me to my future 'alma mater', i thaught people might me knowing about XIM as it is a prestigious college in this eastern part, with this preconcived thaught the taxi driver really dissapointed me when we asked him to take to Xavier, he was not knowing where in the hell this Xavier was, and we have to give the reference of Nalco house, later i can to reallise through my seniors that, people here in bbsr are fond of calling Xavier as 'Jhabier', i liked the way they called it and it added one more term of the oriya parlance in my dictionary.

Finally we reached our destination XIMB and registered for getting the room in the hostel, only to found out that i am among the early birds to reach there. My traumas of jouney where soothened by meeting some of the batchmates of the 'Elite' batch. Yes our batch is really elite with people from different parts of india with varied experience, language and culture all amalgating to form the base of 'Future Managers'.

MIRACLES DOES HAPPEN

Many of us does believes in Miracles, and i too as we tend to believe in things that happen to ourself, or when we see through our own eyes or hear through our own ears, and so do i. I thing happen in the last month that would change my course of life - a new beginning. Finally after a lots of traumas and tribulations a finally made to the Post Graduate Program in Bussiness Administration in Xaveir Institue of Management, something that ui was craving for last 2 long years, but patience is a virtue and it pays.

While preparing for my MBA this year i had never thaught that i would get a call from a single B School, but i a constant thaught kept on wandering in my mind that only a miracle could let me to the gates of a good college, as my preperation for the various entrance exams where pathetic.
Still i dont want to break the consistency and faith that i had in myself for making it, anyhow i want to give my best performance in those exams, come what can, after a faultering performance in CAT i tried for XAT. Again the performance was a mediocre one according to my standards., but ,when i saw the result on the the net with a half hearted effort i was amazed by the awesome result, i was on the cloud nine when i saw my percentile as 97 finally managing a call from XIMB.

I thaught that oppertunities are rare and once u have that one should not miss them at any cost,
and i made up mind to give the past as it was a month left for my GD/Interview i was having enough time, and started a bit by bit of what i felt is required for the D-Day. In an evening before my gd/pi i tried to look at feedback of people who has already given the gd/pi, i was shocked when i found that my preperation are not upto the mark, but i kept on telling myself that as each one of us are on the same boat, each would be facing that kind of problems with that positive note i left everything in god's hand. Sometimes it is correctly said "when u believe Gods Hand in everything, we should leave everything in gods hand". And on the day itself i kept on boosting my morale that i could do that.

The gd for ok as i had made some sansible contribution to it, again my performace in PI had literrary made me cry, and i thaught its was all over and i had to start fresh for my dream. But god has something else for in me in his kitty. I was waitlisted 29 on the final calls, again a ray of hope has recuperated me. I kept on waiting for it and finally made it. On that day i thaught that Miracles does happen. But i would like say two things about them :
1) You should believe in Miracles but should not depend on them.
2) You should work to Make Miracles happen.

Swadesh-We the People

Hi Buddies Once again back after a long break, actually i was not having any thing to post on this and share, but i think i have something to share with u all. Yesterday I saw the movie 'SWADESH', hope so many of u also might have view that. The movie depicted the exact picture of our India, the tribulations, sufferings and traumas of indian, there real life problem of unemployment, population with pathetic cast system strangling India to death.

The movie doesnt have a big star cast except Shah rukh khan which was exceptionally well as always, with the newcommer gorgeous, ravishing Gayatri Joshi.
That movie i think has achieved whatever the messages it wants to give the people especially NRI- Non retuirning Indians. but the are not only the target it gives a beacon to all indians who are well established, have enough to enjoy and who damn care what is happening in the India our true India that is our villages. Here when we enjoy the Coolness of AC, and 24 hours electricity, there are parts in India which even doents know what a Bulb is ?.

After watching the movie i remnicience that each one has to return something from what he gets from society, people can do that in whichever the ways they like and small work done for the uplifting of our society will leads us to more better, secure and happy future.

There was a Scene in the movie in which an Olderly person says to Mohan (SRK) that the biggest diffrence between US (Indians) and US(United States) is that we have Rituals and Culture that make the huge diffrence, I too agree with that, but only if we are looking at the one side of the coin and other side is too murky and rancid, these are the rituals the caste system, and many malpractices that are followed, which diffrentiates a person from the other on the basis of caste, sex, reliaion and many other things.

What I am getting the feeling is that one should try to achieve and try to do what Mohan an PM at NASA could do to its motherland its just feeling a sense of responsibility to our oum motherland, to our own people and that is SWADESH- We the People.

AWAKEN THE GIANT WITHIN

Yes this is the latest book which i have read, it was an enlightning, motivating, and evoking. In his eventful journey of Anthony Robins the author of the book has treid to exhort the people to change themself, there ideas, refrences, guiding rules for the better life of oneself and othere existing entities around us.

One thing never changes in life that is change - still people run away from it, and thats the only option by which can have achange of experience from Pain to Pleasure. In this tony(nick name) has beautifully describe that whatever a man act, react and become passive according the some previous belief that he accumulate in his course of life.

He has described the Six basic steps in which a person can change himself to have pleasure, they are:-

Try to find out the reason of belief(may be pleasure or pain).

Get aquainted with what u want to change in yourself.

make some refrences(things that guide u and motivate u) that will help you in changing that behavior.

Condition your new belief constantly.

Test the new belief that whether you are able to sustain the pressure or getting coaxed

before u give up ur new belief.

Neuro Associative Conditioning this is one of the finest way to head towards your new goal. He explains that as the brain is made up various nerve connecting to each other and with constant learning they behave in a particular way, so , if a person want to change himself all he has to do is to perform such practices or rather make some references in life and constantly work on it so that ur nerves become stronger and stronger in that regards and this will take u away from the unbearable pain in ur life.

Another thing that I had learn from the book CANI (Constant and Never-Ending Improvement)

as no one is perfect in this world one can go in an vicious circle of improving himself so that he is in the vicinity of Perfection. In his marvelous book he has also given lots of example from the real world where people has changed themself to perform incredulous miracles in life. He also insist people who are willing to change to have transformational Vocabulary, that will help them to use mild world when they are angry or furious and use high motivating and outrageous world when one feels better as these would foster a new energy in the person and happiness as the final denouncement.

We human beings measure each and every decision of ours according the fear of impending pain or the joy of pleasure, so we should try to make decision by changing ourself to bear the fruits of pleasure not to oneself but others too.

Another thing i like about the author his philanthropic nature, being the creator of many such organisation that work for the homeless, for the prisoners, Childrenss and Oldage and Urging people to have a vegetarian diet.

I would highly recommend this book to all those who want to have results from themself , who wants to control the situation and not let situations control them, if we able to implement 50% of what the book gives us certainly it would transform our life in one or the other way.

As it is correctly said that ' If you dont belive in the messenger you will not believe in the Message too'. The initial preperation started with booking of the Tickets for shirdi in AC bus as it was highy imphasised by Anshul. A incident broke as we were ready to embark , while returning the balance amount the Agent handed me an extra 100 bucks, when i counted them i thought of returning the money back but wanted to take the opinion of my collegues and unanimously agreed the noble deed.

Finally we boarded the bus after waiting for more than an hour, it was a comfortable one with the serene ambience, While on our way there was i high traffic jam and it would have taken hours if we would have waited there for its clearance, but our shrewd driver took an another adventourus root with lots of Hills as they were revered by Himanshu.
We all landed at the pious land in the morning and after a bath we went to meet the diety for which we were having an appointment ,I dont know how much i waited for that divine moment,
on reaching the temple we were a bit confused were does the Holy Shrine was but finally Got there ,with thousand of other devotees chanting bhajans, The diety was at its best we can think of in mind, as if most of my wishes were fullfilled on seeing him.

After we took a dinner in the Common Hall simultaneously with huge number of people, it was totally a diffrent experience , with a curious question of how could they manage such a huge mass lunch that to with a too cheap price.

We get back to the Hotel to start an another journey to Shani Singnapur which is 70 Km away from here, as we went we have to take a fresh bath while wearing a saffron Cloth around our body, it was an unusual and unique way of praising the lord.

We took another bus for returning to Mumbai, but it was among the coolest(in terms of temperature) as we kept on shiviring in the bus, finally landed to mumbai in wee hours of the day, with some unforgettable memoirs of my life.

My First Ever Blog

So, i am on the net, never thought of Sharing my thaughts in this manner, but technology has made this possible. The idea came Off by reading others blogs especially of my friend's Subham and Nimish and though i haven't posted any comments on there blogs but a lot of such is expected from u all, and i too would be doing that, the time, i read others blogs, as they determine the future creativity of the writer, helps him to fathom more about himself, and he would be encouraged to write what he has kept in his heart and was unable to share his perception about his world.

So i am feeling a bit excited about my first impromptu publication on the net. I always have a deja vu of writing something, but always fall backwards by the negative imagination of failing to impress the world but writing in true sense in more than that, to spread up the idea that exsist in our mind, to get the views when i am wrong, to have my thoughts more clear on the subjects
that i delve into.

I do belive there are lots of people like me who wants to get in touch with world, by penning up there idea's as i belive that 'Ideas can change life' , u may came a new one what others might have given up, so u too may start a journey u long dreamed of.

So i would be continuing this way of reaching u ......................

so wait for my next blog ..................................
